The Long Walk

Enjoy the spectacular approach to Windsor Castle on The Long Walk, featured all around the world in 2018 at The Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

A one mile journey enjoyed by Royalty for centuries and exclusively shared with guests of Windsor Carriages by license since 1849. During the tour we share in the history of the Great Park while you take in the stunning views of Windsor Castle.

This iconic tree-lined avenue stretches down towards the ancient fortress, illustrating the regal grandeur and Royal heritage of Windsor Great Park.

A perfect photo memento from your visit to Windsor.

The Long Walk and Windsor Deer Park

Entering The Windsor Deer Park_Windsor C

Enjoy the spectacular approach to Windsor Castle on The Long Walk, the iconic tree-lined avenue from Windsor Castle and continue on towards the Copper Horse statue and encounter our resident deer herd grazing in this ancient parkland.

The most well-known image of Windsor Great Park is arguably the iconic view down the Long Walk towards Windsor Castle. This tour takes you to the farthest end within The Deer Park, 2.5 miles from The Castle. Red Deer are easily spotted, with a population of around 500 that roam freely around the Deer Park enclosure.

Established by our Park Ranger H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh, the current herd are all descendants of 40 hinds and two stags that were introduced in 1979. The deer are accustomed to seeing visitors walking around, and will remain fairly close, often posing nicely for photographs!

Arrival at Windsor Castle on The Long Walk

This drive starts over 6 miles away from The Castle, via Bishopsgate at Royal Lodge. View the spectacular perspective of The Castle from over 5 miles away from within The Great Park. A vista unchanged for centuries. The very view that King Henry VIII stood watching when awaiting the news that Anne Boleyn had been beheaded.

Journey through the Deer Park and down the full drive of The Long Walk. A momentous approach to Windsor Castle and a drive which will create memories for a lifetime. In our view, the only way to arrive in Windsor.

This is a one way trip to The Castle, which takes around 90 minutes and we can arrange a private car transfer to return you to you car.
