The Coachman's Daughter: Growing Up on a Windsor Hackney Carriage
By Rebecca Seear

Rebecca Seear Author

Growing Up on a Windsor Hackney Carriage

For over 175 years, horse-drawn carriages have been part of life in Windsor.

This is the story behind them.

The Coachman's Daughter tells the story of growing up on the Windsor estate, surrounded by horses, coachmen, visitors, and a trade that traces its roots to 1849.

Part memoir, part history, and part reflection on preserving tradition in a changing world, the book shares the people, places, and moments that shaped both my childhood and the future of Windsor Carriages.

Along the way, you'll meet Windsor characters, hear stories rarely found in guidebooks, discover what life was really like behind the scenes of a working carriage business, and learn how a Victorian tradition continues into the twenty-first century.

This is not simply a book about horses.

It is a book about family, purpose, belonging, and finding the courage to carry something forward when others believe its time has passed.
