Sustainability in
Windsor Great Park

Windsor Carriages Sustainability

Working within a historic royal landscape is a privilege.

Our presence on the estate is not assumed; it is earned and maintained through responsible conduct. Sustainability, for us, is not a trend or a marketing label. It is the discipline of operating with restraint, respect and long-term thinking.

Horse-drawn travel is inherently low-impact, moving at a pace that aligns with the character of Windsor. However, tradition alone is not enough. We continually review how we operate, grow and source to ensure our footprint remains considered and proportionate. The estate is a working landscape and a habitat. Deer, hares and ground-nesting birds share the same ground on which we operate.

As members of the SME Climate Hub, we have committed to measurable emissions reduction targets and ongoing review of our environmental impact. This reinforces our intention to operate responsibly within Windsor’s historic landscape.

Our Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability is part of responsible custodianship. We consider the wider environmental footprint of how we operate and grow.

Emissions & Offsetting
We offset carbon generated by our support vehicles and office operations through UK-based tree-planting initiatives.

Low-Impact Transport

Our team travels by electric bicycle within the town and estate wherever practical. When vehicle support is required, journeys are coordinated to minimise trips and reduce impact.

Responsible HospitalityReusable polycarbonate glassware and cotton napkins are standard. Food and provisions are sourced locally wherever possible, reducing packaging and transport miles.

Responsible Sourcing
We prioritise UK-made products and sustainably manufactured materials in our gifts and supplies.

Paper-Light Administration
Proposals, contracts and communications are delivered digitally as standard to minimise waste.

Operating within a historic royal landscape carries responsibility. We aim to grow carefully, reduce excess, and ensure that our presence enhances rather than burdens the environment in which we work.
