Windsor Carriages traces its working heritage back to 1849, holding Britain’s oldest commercial carriage licences. For generations, these carriages moved locals and visitors through Windsor on continuous, back-to-back journeys.
Today, the licence remains, but the work has changed. The carriage now forms one carefully considered chapter within a privately commissioned Windsor visit or event. It is no longer booked on its own; it sits within the flow of a day designed around story, place, and care.
This evolution allows us to protect what matters most, the welfare of our horses, the integrity of the tradition, and the experience of our guests, while carrying Windsor’s carriage heritage forward into the modern world with purpose and intention.
