Windsor is a living royal town, not simply a historic attraction.
The Castle remains at its heart, but the surrounding estate, the River Thames, neighbouring villages and centuries of local traditions reveal a much richer story.
There are grand avenues and quiet corners, extraordinary views and places where everyday life has unfolded alongside royalty for generations.

A Place of Living Traditions
For centuries, horses and carriages have been part of Windsor's story.
Our own historic carriage licence dates to 1849 and has continued through five generations of custodians, preserving a rare connection with the town's working heritage.
It is one of many traditions that make Windsor more than somewhere to admire the past.
Here, parts of that past are still very much alive.

Windsor lends itself beautifully to an unhurried day.
