After the formality and history of the Castle, the Windsor Estate offers children something entirely different.
The woodland Adventure Play at The Savill Garden gives younger visitors time to climb, explore and simply play, while the surrounding Gardens offer plenty for the rest of the family to enjoy.
It creates a lovely change of pace within the day and is particularly welcome after a morning of sightseeing.
Meet your Windsor Carriages team who will take you into the wider Windsor Estate. There is time to meet the horse, discover what a coachman does and hear how Windsor’s horse-drawn taxis once carried visitors through the town and Estate, before setting off by carriage yourselves.
Along the way, we share stories of the landscape, its wildlife and traditions, with Estate apple juice and thoughtful hospitality for younger guests and grown-ups.
Enjoy a leisurely exploration of Windsor Great Park’s ancient woodland, with time for children to run and explore as we pause along the way.
Young guests may also be invited to sit beside the coachman and discover the basics of carriage driving, learning about the horse, harness and traditions of the trade from the box seat.
