His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales & Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales

Windsor has long been the stage for royal pageantry and state ceremony. Presidents, dignitaries, and members of the Royal Family have all marked their place in its history.

Today, those same traditions are extended with care to our esteemed guests.

With Windsor Carriages, you do not simply visit — you take your place in a story that has endured for nearly two centuries.

Each day is designed as a true Windsor royal visit experience, hosted with precision and care.

Arrival with Precision

Every royal visit begins with timing of the utmost care. So does yours. From the moment you step into your chauffeured car, every detail unfolds seamlessly, free from the queues

and logistics that belong to others.

Luxury and precision guide the welcome: an entrance that feels effortless, yet is orchestrated to perfection.

A Castle Explored with Insight

Our guides have lived Windsor Castle’s story for decades. They reveal the private

anecdotes that rarely leave its walls — the corgis being walked, Princess Charlotte’s first riding lessons, the quiet greetings exchanged with the King or the Prince of Wales.

Here, storytelling and heritage take centre stage. You will see where presidents have dined, where helicopters descend, and where banquets sparkle with glass and silver.

The Carriage: Windsor’s Most Regal Approach

When President Trump visited Windsor, it is said he requested a carriage as part of his welcome — a tradition also extended to President Macron.

There is nothing quite like the sound of hooves on the Long Walk or the turning into the private gates of Windsor Great Park.

Our coachmen, passionate about horses and their traditions, continue a unique heritage that has survived nearly two centuries.

Dining Fit for Royalty

You may not sit beside the King at a State Banquet, but you can dine as if you might.

Lunch or afternoon tea within Windsor Castle, a country inn favoured by locals, or a Michelin-starred restaurant — each option chosen for its story as much as for its excellence.

A Windsor Carriages experience always concludes with a private toast to Windsor — a pause, a glass raised, and a memory marked with quiet luxury and meaning.

Finishing Touches

Some privileges are reserved for those in the know. A private river cruise, drifting past Windsor’s wooded banks. A hack in Windsor Great Park with our trusted riding contacts, echoing President Reagan’s visit. Or, for those drawn to equestrian tradition, a private polo lesson — a sport synonymous with royalty.

For guests visiting during the summer season, we also curate full days at Royal Ascot, seamlessly pairing carriage arrival with dining and hospitality.

Each is a niche addition, arranged with the discretion of a trusted insider.

They are not found in guidebooks — but discovered only through connection, heritage, and story.

Every Windsor Carriages day concludes with a private toast to Windsor — a moment to pause, raise a glass, and weave your own memory into this living tradition.

Windsor’s Trusted Experts in the Royal Visit Experience

Windsor experts

Windsor is a living, working royal town. The Long Walk and other estate routes are royal thoroughfares, sometimes closed or even boarded off for royal events, ceremonial duties, or the autumn deer rutting season.

That is why we cannot promise fixed loops or set start points, as would be required for multiple rides a day — nor do we wish to. Your visit, and our heritage, deserve more.

Our logistics team monitor every change across the estate, reshaping routes with foresight and precision. On the morning of your visit, we may be notified of a closure or event. If so, we adapt instantly: moving start points, transferring you by car where needed, or switching timings so the horses work in the cooler hours of the day.

This is why we ask for the full day — and why you have our full attention. It is the only way we can deliver an experience designed with the same precision as a state visit, yet hosted with the intimacy of a private invitation.

Trust & Integrity In Our Service

“The Long Walk closed ahead of the royal wedding — one of the few days we were privileged to drive specially approved media guests.”

There are moments when our heritage is entrusted to us in extraordinary ways.

Ahead of the royal wedding in 2019, when Windsor Great Park was closed to the media, Kensington Palace granted us special permission to take selected media guests on a carriage drive.

Each guest was hand-picked and approved by the royal couple.

It is this trust, discretion, and integrity of heritage that underpin every experience we curate for you.

A Presidential Day in Windsor

To walk the Quadrangle where presidents are received, guided by insiders who know its

stories.

To see the State Apartments dressed for a banquet — shimmering with luxury and ceremony.

To ride by private carriage into Windsor Great Park — a unique tradition kept alive by coachmen whose skills are fading elsewhere.

To raise a glass in a private toast to Windsor — a story marked in your own history.

To add, should you wish, a river cruise or a hack in the Park — niche privileges, rare and unforgettable.

Each element is designed with the precision of a state visit, yet hosted with the warmth of a private invitation.

Your Invitation

At Windsor Carriages, we curate just one exceptional experience per day. No tickets, no ranks, no loops. Only heritage, horses, and hospitality, woven together for you alone.

One day. One carriage. One story, now part of Windsor’s living history.
